OUR 35TH ANNIVERSARY - IT WAS THE BEST!

It was an amazing day! Rick and I talked about how amazing the years have been and how blessed we are - - and how in love we are today! 35 years ago Grandma Flanders was here and so were both of our dads. In their place we now have all these beautiful children, daughters-in-law and grandchildren! We have so much time together and we cherish all of it! Rick is my best friends, and definately my biggest cheerleader! I could not have possibly found someone that would support me, adore me, encourage me, cheer for me and love me the way he does. Our differences (they are many) have helped each of us learn so much and have tempered us! His strengths blend into me, and my strengths blend into him. RYAN HAD TRUCK PROBLEMS AS HE BROUGHT HIS YOUNG MEN GROUP HOME FROM CAMP. WE TOWED HIM HOME, HELPED PULL WEEDS WHILE WE WAITED FOR THE GRANDKIDS TO GET HOME, AND WHEN THEY ARRIVED, DEVANIE HAD A SPECIAL BOX WITH BABY BIRDS IN IT THAT HAD FALLEN OUT OF A TREE.

Gurney Family Proclamation

We, the Gurneys, are an eternally organized family who chose to leave God's presence to receive mortal bodies, and have covenanted to live worthily to return to Him again.

We love, honor and respect our Father in Heaven, ourselves and all people and creations.

We obey Christ's teachings, follow the living Prophets and seek for personal revelation and guidance through faith, prayer and scripture study.

We work hard, are honest in all our dealings, we repent of our errors (through the Atonement of our Savior) and forgive others for their wrongdoings as we seek always for that which is positive and uplifting.

We honor the awesome power and authority of the Priesthood, we will receive all needed ordinances and we will receive and keep all temple covenants.

We seek for wholesome influences, associations, service opportunities and will create memorable family activities that unite and strengthen us - - while adding fulfillment and happiness to our Earthly lives.

I AM A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

The decision has been made, I have stepped over the line. The dye has been cast - - I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.

I won't look back, let up, slow down or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure.

I'm finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, positions, promotions, plaudits or popularity.

I don't have to be first, right, recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded.

I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk with patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven.

My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, divided or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, stay quiet, or let up - until I have stayed up, stored up, and paid up for the cause of Christ.

I will work 'til He comes, give 'til I drop, teach all I know, and work 'til He stops me - and -

when He returnes (which He will) He will have no problem recognizing me - I will be like Him.
