RICHARD'S FARM

I LOVED my day with Richard at his farm (the Elliot house). He works so hard to make things nice, trimming the big front trees, getting the grass nice, making a stone sidewalk - and now he's a gardener too! He works so hard at his HVAC job and was still working last night when dad called him. Also, Bailey's mom hired him to cut her huge trees and he did it at 1/2 the cost of the tree companies! Richard, you are an incredible worker!

I got to take Roxie and Maddaux with me and it was like a field trip for them - playing with the baby chicks that Bailey brought to Richard as a gift. Maddaux was traumatized with the cats at first, but soon came out from the corner. Maybe the 3-legged cat was a little too much - but Tripod is a definate favorite!

I remembered something I once heard - "Who you become is an average of the top 5 people and activities you spend you life with". Richard is love - Richard is work - Richard is kind. His life is filled with goodness. We love you Richard!

Gurney Family Proclamation

We, the Gurneys, are an eternally organized family who chose to leave God's presence to receive mortal bodies, and have covenanted to live worthily to return to Him again.

We love, honor and respect our Father in Heaven, ourselves and all people and creations.

We obey Christ's teachings, follow the living Prophets and seek for personal revelation and guidance through faith, prayer and scripture study.

We work hard, are honest in all our dealings, we repent of our errors (through the Atonement of our Savior) and forgive others for their wrongdoings as we seek always for that which is positive and uplifting.

We honor the awesome power and authority of the Priesthood, we will receive all needed ordinances and we will receive and keep all temple covenants.

We seek for wholesome influences, associations, service opportunities and will create memorable family activities that unite and strengthen us - - while adding fulfillment and happiness to our Earthly lives.

I AM A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

The decision has been made, I have stepped over the line. The dye has been cast - - I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.

I won't look back, let up, slow down or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure.

I'm finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, positions, promotions, plaudits or popularity.

I don't have to be first, right, recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded.

I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk with patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven.

My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, divided or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, stay quiet, or let up - until I have stayed up, stored up, and paid up for the cause of Christ.

I will work 'til He comes, give 'til I drop, teach all I know, and work 'til He stops me - and -

when He returnes (which He will) He will have no problem recognizing me - I will be like Him.
